DRAKSHATHI RASAYANAM;

Drakshathi Rasayana is an ancient Ayurvedic herbal medicine. It is useful for anorexic patients, as it helps in gaining weight in a non-obese way. Rich in nutrients which are essential for healthy living, also, aids in the improvement of the burning of fat. Regularizing the digestive system improves visual acuity. Treats cold, cough, pulmonary disease [PCOD]. Treats anemia and improves absorption of nutrients. Also treats a wide variety of gastric and intestinal complaints. Used to treat eye disorders such as burning, redness, and itching. Also useful in diseases caused by vitiation of Vaata-Pitt

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Vitis vinifera - were used for treating sore throats, and raisins were given as treatments for consumption (tuberculosis), constipation, and thirst. Ripe grapes were used for the treatment of cancer, cholera, smallpox, nausea, skin and eye infections as well as kidney and liver diseases.

Cinnamomum Verum - astringent, warming stimulant, carminative, blood purifier, digestive, antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties and also help to reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Elettaria cardamomum - is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of the body. It is very beneficial in congestion of lungs and other pulmonary diseases. It is also used as a laxative and used to prevent stomach pain, flatulence, and gripping.

Mesua ferrea - are useful in skin diseases like leprosy, itching, erysipelas, scabies, wounds, and excessive sweating as it provides fragility and transparency to the skin.

Callicarpa macrophylla - commonly known as Priyangu is a useful medicinal plant for the treatment of various disorders like a tumor, polydipsia, diarrhea, dysentery, diabetes, fever, ;

Piper nigrum -  also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticonvulsant, and neuroprotective effects.

Piper longum - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.

Embelia Ribes - known in commerce as Baibidang is recommended for relieving headache, rhinitis, hemorrhage, epilepsy, and insomnia. The decoction of dried fruits is used for fever and for chest and skin disease.

Sesamum indicum -  is mildly laxative, emollient and demulcent. The seeds and fresh leaves may be used as a poultice. The antibacterial activity of seeds against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus as well as common skin fungi, such as athlete's foot fungus has also been well recognized.

Terminalia chebula -  is used for dysentery. Terminalia bellerica and Terminalia chebula are used as a lotion for sore eyes. Terminalia chebula is also used topically as a mouthwash and gargle.

Baliospermam montanum - used in constipation, abdominal pain, general anasarca, piles, calculus, helminthic infections, scabies, dermic affections, suppurative ulcers, and diseases caused by the morbidity of Kapha and pitta.

Plumbago zeylanica - used in the treatment of stubborn chronic rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases, and tumorous growths as recommended by Ayurveda. It also finds its use in correcting chronic menstrual disorders, viral warts, and chronic diseases of the nervous system.

Zingiber officinale -  is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.

Merremia turpethum - are used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for the treatment of skin disorders such as vitiligo and several diseases such as cervical lymphadenitis, fistulas, constipation, chronic gout, fever, bronchitis, ulcers, hemorrhoids, tumors, obesity, jaundice, herpes.
